About Me
My work explores memory, belonging, and the traces that places, relationships, and experiences leave behind. I draw from personal memories, cultural references, and fragments of everyday life, bringing them together to create images that can feel both familiar and strange.
Painting is at the center of my practice, alongside film, photography, and ceramics. I am interested in how personal experiences can be translated into visual language, and how something deeply personal can become open to interpretation. My work moves between intimacy and distance, memory and imagination, the familiar and the unknown.
Background
I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and raised in the U.S., in Miami, Florida, where I spent my childhood and school years. After completing high school, I moved to Zürich, Switzerland, where I am now based. I later completed a BSc in Public Health at ZHAW.
Moving between different places and cultures has shaped the way I see and experience the world, and naturally finds its way into my work through themes of memory, identity, and belonging.
Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began drawing, painting, and creating as a child, long before I thought of it as a practice. It was simply a way of expressing myself and making sense of the world around me.
After stepping away from painting for a period of time, I eventually found my way back to it. Returning to art felt less like starting something new and more like reconnecting with something that had always been there.
Today, my practice is a space where I bring together things I have experienced, remembered, questioned, and imagined.
